Officers & Directors
Jay Thompson – President
Being an Army brat I moved around as a kid but went to high school in San Antonio and
spent years in Austin. My work in semiconductors and real estate sent me all around the
country, but when I retired my wife, Francy, and I got back to Texas as fast as we could.
We knew Bay Harbor would be home as soon as we drove through the gates.
While I spend a great deal of time slaying redfish on the flats, I have previous HOA
board experience, and serve on the Board of Directors for two real estate software
companies and a charitable foundation. I am an Election Judge for San Patricio County.
I believe HOAs should serve the best interests of property owners and our community.
Rhoda Poenisch – Secretary
My husband, Don, and I moved to Bay Harbor in 2014 after living in Ingleside on the
Bay for many years. I was born and grew up in west Texas, Rankin and Odessa. After
graduating from the University of Texas, my career included teaching, working in a
college library, owning a health food store, and my favorite job was being a deck hand
on our shrimp boat. I retired after being a proofreader and office worker for a printing
company.
We have one daughter who lives in Austin with her family. I served as BHCOA
President from 2020-2023 and currently serve on the Beautification/ Landscape
Committee. I belong to the local Garden Club and Native Plant Society. My hobbies and
interests include native plants, gardening, encouraging wildlife (especially butterflies)
and cooking.
Gordon Lambeck - Treasurer
My wife, Lynne, and I purchased our home in Bay Harbor in 2020. We have enjoyed
meeting new friends and neighbors. I worked for Austin Energy for 23 years in power
generation and communication networks, designing, building and overseeing control
centers, data centers and fiber optic networks. After retiring from Austin Energy, I
started my second career as an automation consultant for various oil and gas
companies.
Nils Axelsen – Member at Large
My wife, Juleen, and I moved into Bay Harbor in 2017. I grew up in Tyler TX and
graduated from SMU and Baylor College of Medicine. I retired as an orthopedic surgeon
in 2022. My practices were in Fort Smith, AR; Lawton, OK; and Corpus Christi. Our
daughter, son-in-law and grandson live in Portland, TX. Being retired now allows me to
pursue my interests of fishing and photography.
